The Beast from the East part 2


Last year I came across a watch I had always wanted, a vintage G Shock, in a junk shop for only £2. This set me thinking that there might be other watches out there that might be worth a look.

Fast forward 10 months and my third collectable watch has just arrived from the Ukraine, it's a Soviet Russian era Boctok Amphibian, Boctock means East in Russian.

It's a 17 jewel mechanical watch, that is waterproof down to 200 meters, so for the price, it is a great watch with a bit of history. This watch is now due for a bit of a makeover as after 25 years or more it is showing its age, so when all the bits have arrived I will post an update.

The Leek Blues festival

During the last 10 years, I have had the pleasure to be asked to photograph some of the areas best events. Some of these have lead to a long-standing association and produced some of my best work. The Leek Blues festival is one of those events and this picture is from one of last years gigs. This picture, while not one of my best, sums up the festival and my involvement very well. Staring with the main focus of the picture that is the little girl captivated by the band, showing the wide-ranging appeal that the festival has. Also, the background to the left of the band shows my exhibition of images taken over the last few festivals.
